Here we have a track from Chilean psych-folk band Congregación. Led by reclusive frontman Antonio Smith, Congregación only released one album, “Viene”, in 1972, which has come to be highly sought after as a gem of world psychedelic folk. Each track is a haunting evocation of mystical realms as viewed through the shamanistic cultures of the Andes mountains. I was lucky enough to come across a CD copy in a Tokyo record store awhile back, and it has turned to be one of the most treasured albums in my collection. An absolutely gorgeous masterpiece.
